Join us for our first excursion of our new program! We will spend a couple hours enjoying the evening light and plentiful birdlife that gather and nest at this hidden gem in the boreal forest adjacent to Creamer’s Field. No experience necessary! We will be birding from good trails, but access can be muddy through the bog.
When: June 22, 2023 – 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Where: Meet at the small parking area at the end of Henrik Ct.
What to Bring: Binoculars if you have them, boots for the bog, and mosquito protection.
All donations will help to launch Adventure Borealis natural history programming and to support programs focussed on inclusivity and accessibility for members of our community traditionally marginalized in outdoor recreation and adventure spaces.

Join mycologist Christin Swearingen on a fun mushroom walk in the forest trails near Fairbanks. You can discover more about the jobs mushrooms do in the ecosystem, learn how to recognize certain edible and poisonous species, and be delighted by the tiny details of the fungal world that will change how you view the forest forever! We will be walking (very) short distances on well-packed trails.
